In an ideal world, I'd like to see POC produce things for POC in spite of the white gaze.
But folks wanna make money and be superstars which is fine.
Art is a means to make big money nowadays and that ends up not being art.
I think that oftentimes POC do things to prove themselves to white people. Look at me I’m human, look at me I have feelings, etc. I hope that one day more of that energy can be spent on ourselves.
I’ve been inarticulate this weekend so I’ll touch upon this on a later date.

No….lol I can try though a little. I did some musical theatre ast year and learned I really couldn’t . I can sing and act..but dance? I really need to work on it ..especially since I’m African. I liked how you emphasized the CAN’T there. It pretty accurate.
